Science Technician

Scale 3, point 5-6 (FTE: £25,583-£25,989, Actual Salary: £21,224-£21,560)
37 hours/week - term time only
Working hours will be agreed in discussion with the successful candidate
We are advertising for a practical, hands-on Science Technician to join our lively Science Department. If you are interested in Science, setting up experiments, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes - especially in Physics - this could be for you.
Job Role:
- Getting equipment and materials ready for science lessons, ideally for Physics.
- Making sure that the practicals and equipment are safe and work properly.
- Maintaining the prep room to ensure it is organised and tidy and managing stock.
- Coming up with creative ways to make science practicals more exciting.
- Making sure we adhere to health and safety rules and CLEAPPS guidelines.
What We’re Looking For:
- Someone who’s curious about how things work - especially mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Experience in a lab, workshop, or school is great, but not necessary.
- Good at staying organised and spotting when things need fixing.
- Flexible, keen to learn, and happy to muck in.
- Ready to support students and staff in a busy school environment.
