We are currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Site Officer Apprentice.
Hinchingbrooke is a remarkable state school, set in acres of beautiful grounds and adjoining a country park. Hinchingbrooke House was formerly the family home of the Cromwells and of the Earls of Sandwich. The school finds inspiration from its heritage and gives both staff and students a very special pride and a sense of identity. The successful candidate must be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. The candidate must be punctual and have the ability to prioritise work.

Working week
Working days and hours 8am - 5pm with an hour for lunch. 40 hours per week, 23 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Responsibilities will include:
- Maintain constant awareness of the physical condition of the building, furniture and equipment and report any issues to Site Manager
- Ensure the building and contents are secured and carry out security rounds at regular intervals and report any potential security breaches
- Provision of access to the building (and grounds) to authorised persons at all reasonable times
- Carry out small maintenance and repairs to the building, furniture and equipment within the scope of a competent handyperson
- Carry out all necessary administrative duties as directed
- Collect and assemble waste for removal and carry out recycling duties
- Coordinate and /or carry out porterage duties as required and particularly the laying out of the furniture and other equipment for timetabled activities without direct instruction
- Miscellaneous duties of a practical nature as circumstances demand, or at the reasonable request of the Site Manager e.g., emergency cleaning, graffiti removal, vandalism etc.
- Monitor the standards of cleaning of the building and report any issues to the School Cleaning supervisor
- Carry out litter picking
- Support the Ground team in maintaining a safe and clean external environment as necessary e.g., gritting, snow clearing etc.
