Hinchingbrooke School is looking to recruit an additional Technician for the Audio Visual & Theatre Department.
The role is creatively varied and no one day will be the same. The role will include preparing for assemblies, lighting and sound work for school events, supporting creative departments (including Dance, Drama, Music and Film/Media Studies), restringing musical instruments, and filming and editing student work for their exam portfolios. From general administrative duties to preparing equipment to ordering to promoting the department to working a wide variety of events you will be challenged mentally and sometimes physically. Thinking out the box, working both intuitively and independently are key in this role and the ability to laugh is paramount.
The role would suit a skilled individual with experience working in a theatre or looking for experience in an educational setting. Some flexibility in working hours would be ideal, as demands change depending on the needs of the school week. There is also the possibility of overtime in this role within the day, evenings, weekends, and holiday periods. This may include supporting a wide range of exciting external commercial events and performances.

Hinchingbrooke School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant/ Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our literacy team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for raising levels of literacy amongst identified groups of students by providing support to students who are identified as underachieving, disadvantaged or in need of additional support in making progress. This role will require coordination of stakeholders and students as well as planning and delivering intervention strategies. We are looking for a colleague who enjoys working with young people, has a flexible and positive approach and enjoys working as part of a wide team, but can confidently lead strategy implementation. Naturally, you will have a passion for literacy and thrive on engaging students within this area.
The successful candidate will either have in depth relevant experience of a wide range of interventions or be willing to complete training to deliver them.

We are looking for adaptable, proactive individuals who can contribute to maintaining standards, by providing support to teaching departments and the whole school.
The successful applicants will be required to cover a range of subject lessons across a school day (experience of leading sports activities may be an advantage) or provide administrative support as directed by their line manager.
